Property
is Riaan’s passion. He studied marketing
and sales at Wits Technikon and Technikon
RSA. After working for property developers
operating mainly in Kagiso – a traditionally
disadvantaged area between Krugersdorp and
Randfontein, as well as in a suburb of Soweto
as a sales agent, he started construction
company Roos Contractors in 1992. In 1994
he also started RBA Developments in Johannesburg
which expanded operations to the Western
Cape in December 1999. In 2001 Riaan sold
his shares and in 2007 the company listed
on the ALTX.
In 2002, Riaan started MSP Developments:
“The best move I ever made.”
He is very optimistic about the future:
“We are one of the bigger development
companies in the market today, and are
certainly going to be one of the biggest
- if not the biggest - in the next few
years.”
MSP has diversified over the years, offering
a host of complementary business units
that are all geared to offering significant
end-user value across all market segments.
“That’s what we want to do
– cover the whole spectrum –
and that is what MSP stands for –
Multi Spectrum Property.”

| John
Coetzee, Managing
Director |
|
|
Appointed to the Board of
Directors in 2009, as Managing Director, John
Coetzee brings 20 years of management experience
to the table. Previously MD of property group
Charles Potgieter Investments (CPI), John Coetzee’s
appointment to MSP promises to bring even more
credence to the already expert team, Riaan Roos
has shaped.
John Coetzee,
known for his innovative management style and
larger picture thinking is widely regarded as
a pioneer in large developments in the Western
Cape property market. His legacy at CPI includes
Burgundy Estate, a 5 803 unit residential development
in the Western Cape. Future projects include Buh-Rein
Estate, a 3 516 residential unit estate and Sitari
Fields Lifestyle Estate consisting of up to 4
000 new homes.
What set’s
John apart from everyone else is a sharp nose
for investment and an instinct for land that has
potential. Clearly, it’s this feeling
for the land, this reliance on intuition, that
has taken John to where he is today – and
that will continue to carry MSP to even greater
success. |
